Andrew Hamilton
Andy Hamilton was raised in Marianna, Florida, and graduated with high honors from the Florida State University College of Law in 1987. Andy was a published member of the Law Review and was awarded a Public Service Fellowship.
Andy Hamilton has practiced law for over thirty-five years. He began his practice working for one of Florida’s most prestigious corporate firms in downtown Tampa. Andy represented some of the nation’s largest insurance companies, self-insured corporate defendants, auto makers, trucking companies, and a major league sports franchise. Andy later formed his own firm for the purpose of representing plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits. Andy has successfully handled cases involving automobile accidents, medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, products liability, property damage, dangerous premises, and business and contract issues.
Andy has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of AV, for legal ability and ethical standards. He has been recognized by Florida Trend as one of the state’s Legal Elite.
Andy now limits his practice to medation and arbitration. As a Circuit Civil Mediator, certified by the Florida Supreme Court, Andy draws on his experience trying contract, construction, landlord/tenant, business torts, and personal injury cases.
Throughout his career, Andy has been committed to improving professionalism in the practice of law. He has served as Chairman of one of the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committees, which evaluates complaints of lawyer misconduct, and as Vice Chair of the Florida Bar’s Code and Rules of Evidence Committee. He has served as President of the Carrollwood Bar Association and the Hernando Bar Association. He has participated in the Tampa Bay and Citrus-Hernando (President) Inns of Court, organizations dedicated to legal professionalism.
